Kilim

Kilim rugs have their roots in the late 19th century and enjoy a long tradition in the Orient. They are woven by hand and are characterised by their flat structure. In contrast to the elaborately hand-knotted traditional oriental rugs, kilims offer the advantage of being used on both sides, as the front and back look identical. They are made with warp and weft, using sheep's wool as the main material. Sheep's wool is extremely hard-wearing and also provides excellent thermal insulation. Hand-woven
