The production of a gutshan rug
Our gutshan rugs are made from hand-spun wool using traditional craftsmanship. The creation of a gutshan oriental rug begins with the design of a carpet pattern, which serves as the basis for the subsequent knotting. Various designs, such as floral patterns, geometric shapes or medallions, can be considered. Before the actual knotting, the warp (warp threads) and the weft (weft threads) are prepared on a weaving frame, with the warp threads forming the basic structure of the rug. This meticulous carpet-making process is based on centuries-old traditions and requires in-depth craftsmanship. Depending on the size and complexity of the rug and the experience of the weaver, this process can take several months or even years.
